BFT on Baseball SZN

Faith. Trust. Pixie Dust. Back when I actually didn't suck at baseball, this was the phrase the best player I had ever played with told me before every game I pitched in high school. This kid was a freshman when I was a junior. I was struggling to be noticed by a school, any school. I would have been happy to just be seen by a junior college. This kid was 5'5", 150 lbs as a freshman and had committed to USC before ever playing an inning of high school baseball. A stiff wind would have gotten the best of him, but he was great. Even as a "little guy" as he was very well known, this kid would go on to do great things. We all knew this. Now, he's in the Oakland A's organization, entering his first full season in pro ball. As he makes it well known, it is #DANGERSZN. For those of you that aren't followed by him on Twitter or Instagram(I am, but that's just because I'm special), this kid is 5'9" in cleats on concrete, and he just hit a 5'3" box jump. He is special, and watch out for him. The only guy I could be talking about would have to be Nick Allen.

I had to get my little piece in on Nick Allen because he's a special guy that everyone should follow as he makes his way through the minor league system. He has Gold Glove potential, no doubt, and he is just one of the most humble guys anyone could be around. Now, on to the next 7 weeks.

This is the worst time of the year, without question. March Madness is still over a month away, but the MLB season does not start until March 29th. The season is starting earlier this year so that teams have more days off during the year. This is great, and there are some special things to cover this year. The MLB is having a series in Monterrey, Mexico, this year. The Dodgers and Padres will play the series in Monterrey from May 4-6. The Yankees could have the most power in a lineup since the Murderer's Row Yankees. My bold prediction is that the Yankees struggle to figure out the lineup with that much power. There are still an array of All-Star caliber players that remain unsigned, with pitchers and catchers reporting in less than 10 days. There are seven weeks and 3 days until Opening Day. There are so many things to come, but I know one thing: these next 52 days are going to suck.
